Wyck Historic House, Garden & Farm, Germantown (Philadelphia)
Interpretive Plan, 2010
We produced an interpretive plan for Wyck, a National Historic Landmark house in Germantown, lived in by more than nine generations of the same family. With site staff, we visited and evaluated best practices at comparable sites on the east coast. We then facilitated a series of workshops and focus groups with staff, stakeholders/experts, outside advisors with diverse backgrounds, and the public/community members. Wyck reported: "Thanks to our new Interpretive Plan, visitors are experiencing Wyck as an interactive 'cabinet of curiosities,' better understanding how Wyck's trove of everyday treasures relates to the innovators, educators, philanthropists, horticulturalists, social reformers, and other Wistar-Haines family members who lived here." |
