Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, Harrisburg: PA Civil War 150 Road Show
Civil War Road Show and "Transformations: Pennsylvanians and the Civil War," temporary exhibition, 2011 - 15
After conducting a feasibility study for the project, we planned and developed the Civil War Road Show -- based in an expandable tractor-trailer -- for PA Civil War 150, and curated the on-board exhibition. The Show made more than 30 stops at special events, including fairs and festivals, receiving more than 90,000 visitors from 2011 to 2012. We also designed and coordinated the host application process and first-year tour schedule, and worked with contractors to implement the Show. Following the tour, the exhibition is being installed (fall 2013) at the State Museum in Harrisburg for the remainder of the Civil War sesquicentennial. For this project we worked with the PA Civil War 150 planning committee, Metcalfe Architecture & Design (exhibit designer), A More Perfect Union and Smith Brothers Agency (media producers), Craftsmen Industries (fabricator), Borden Agency (tour coordinator), and Karma Agency (marketing communications firm). |
